Day Three Hundred Forty-Four

Love is on the way
I've been so good while I wait
It wont be another day
Cuz your love is on the way

I saw your face in the book of love
It stopped me in my tracks
I couldn't move at all
I wrote the longest letter that I ever
composed
Told you all of my virtues
Only loneliness knows

CHORUS

Got my soul back in swing
Yeah I dusted it off
Corrected my posture on some
years that I lost
I cleaned my kitchen till the
shine burned my eyes
Got my best suit tailored for my
current size

CHORUS

And I'm so excited I can't contain
Your love is on the way

I got a chance at a life of love
I'm turning it on
Gone are the nights alone in the dark
Your love is on

I'll paint your favorite colors on your new
front door
I read your difficult past
I learned some words you may know
I state my intentions for you
I sent away
Now it's forever after in a matter of days

Love is on the way
Goodbye all those yesterdays
Cuz my new life starts today
Oh your love is on the way

And I'm so excited I can't contain
Your love is on the way.

I got a chance at a life of love
I'm turning it on
Gone are the nights alone in the dark
Your love is on

Day Three Hundred Forty-Three.

Something is different about this homecoming. Usually I am stressed out about the things I need to get done or the preparation before J is home. This time around I just have an overwhelming feeling of wanting him home that I don't care so much about the outfit or the super clean car. Maybe it is a sign of having enough time apart? haha.

How do you feel before a homecoming? :)

27 August 2009

Day Three Hundred Forty-Two.

Of course the waiting cant come without a push. The anticipated date is now a day later. That normally doesn't sound like much but in the end of deployment terms it is foooorever.

No call yet foooorever lol.

26 August 2009

Day Three Hundred Forty-One.

...is waiting on the official calls to begin.

Not the one saying I can go pick him up but the one confirming the date since it is pretty common knowledge now and pretty darn close might I mention.

Eeeek! <3

25 August 2009

Day Three Hundred Forty.

Wine + good friends + power wheels + a barbie helmet + lots of laughs = good times to make any stressful week better.

Pictures tomorrow. :)

24 August 2009

Day Three Hundred Thirty-Nine.

More reunions today! We weren't a part of them but I can see the end although it seems a little fuzzy since the days are just dragggggging I do know it is almost over.

I am going to be talking to my nurse tomorrow for more information but my biopsy came back abnormal. I am not sure what the next step is but I do know whatever it is I wont have to face anything else without my hubby here. Trying to always find the positive. Sigh.

23 August 2009

Day Three Hundred Thirty-Eight.

I am starting to get to the I-can't-sleep-at-night-my-husband-is-almost-home-exciting-anxious stage. :)

22 August 2009

Day Three Hundred Thirty-Seven.

Volunteering, baking, meetings, Zumba, watching friends kids, running errands, cleaning the house, calling to update the girls in my platoon and give information, helping others get settled back here, painting signs, paying bills, answering plenty of calls with questions on homecoming and today add making beds. My life is super hectic right now! I have been on the go for what seems like the past week volunteering and trying to get things together for our single soldiers coming home. Today I made beds in the barracks with a few other girls for a little over thirty of them. We weren't able to do all seventy because some of the guys have already had household goods delivered to their room. I did make the bed in Jason's old room...so many memories there of my first visit to see him before we were married! I really don't mind helping others and volunteering my time but some times I think I do take on too much. This morning I wanted to do the dishes and start laundry before having to head out and before I knew it my phone was ringing for directions to somewhere, my doorbell was ringing for my new neighbor to get her keys and help move her boxes in and then my phone was ringing with hubby. I never did get five minutes to sit down and eat before I went let alone start the dishes and laundry. To top it all off when I went to drop stuff off for another friend her MIL asked me what I did all day if I wasn't working right now. Pffft I wasn't sure how to take that but maybe she should see a day like yesterday where I leave in the morning and don't get back until after midnight and then ask again. :)

On a brighter note I DID get to the dishes tonight and now I am heading out the door to be at a friends for a gathering in twenty minutes.

Once the whirlwind slows down I will get to everyone elses blogs! I promise within a week it probably will. ;)

21 August 2009

Day Three Hundred Thirty-Five.

Jessica at Learning As We Go tagged me to fill out this fun little thing!

1. Who is the hottest Movie Star? Would it be sad if I gave an I don't know?! I truly don't have a celebrity crush or can I think of one lol.

2. Apart from your house and car, what is the most expensive item you have ever bought: Probably the items in it. My living room furniture set cost a pretty penny.

3. What is your most treasured memory? Growing up it was all the times my brother and I shared together where he taught me something from swimming to climbing a tree. Now I would have to say the look on Jason's face the day we were married. Everyone told me to look at him for his reaction because everyone elses eyes would be on me. I just remember the way he smiled at me as the doors opened waiting for me to get to him. :)

4. What was the best gift you ever received as a child: Growing up it was probably my Lite Brite, but looking back now it was the amount of traveling we did and the things I got to see as a child. I was blessed!

5. What is the biggest mistake you have ever made? I'm not a "mistake" type of girl. I mean we all make them but in the end we learn from them. I wouldn't say I have a biggest mistake.

6. 4 words to describe yourself: passionate, giving, loyal and honest.

7. What was your highlight or low light of 2008? Highlight was a road trip we took when my parents visited in the summer and obviously the low was Jason deploying.

8. Favorite Film? Into the Wild.

9. Tell me one thing I don’t know about you: I have a lot of pride in the people I love. :)

10. If you were a comic book/strip or cartoon character, who would you be? Veronica from Archie without a doubt.

...and because I am extremely tired I am tagging everyone. :)

Day Three Hundred Thirty-Four.

One thing I know I will always miss about Alaska is how beautiful and simple it is here.

18 August 2009

Day Three Hundred Thirty-Three.

To all my antsy readers have no fear you will hear about a homecoming THIS month...as in less than two weeks!!! ;)

17 August 2009

Day Three Hundred Thirty-Two.

After setting my eyes on this fine line of Emerilware back in '07 when we registered for our wedding...
I knew one day it would be mine.
I just splurged on a 14-piece set of Emerilware.
Happy wife is a happy life haha.
:)

Day Three Hundred Thirty-One.

Ohh sad face! Erin left tonight and it seems like the week went by so very quickly. We had a great time together and it was so refreshing and relaxing to have a friend here before the madness of homecoming. I really appreciate her being here and being a great friend to me during Jason's time away. Although she doesn't always "get it" when it comes to the military she sure tries to understand. So very thankful for great people in my life! :)

Day Three Hundred Thirty.

I am so excited to see some great movies this fall. Ive been adding to our Netflix the comedies that came out this summer and the ones we weren't able to see on R&R to watch when J gets home. However, seeing previews for "All About Steve" that comes to theaters at the first of the month means I may not have to add it to my queue because Ill have a date to go see it when it is still out. :) Ahh dinner and a movie...I sure have missed those days.

14 August 2009

Day Three Hundred Twenty-Nine.

Coming home to these on my doorstep after a stressful day like today...priceless. <3
Hubby will be home soon...the card even said so. ;)

Day Three Hundred Twenty-Seven.

If only I hadn't sprained my ankle today and I wasn't laid up right now would I hop back downstairs and get my camera to upload pictures from today. I guess you will just have to wait. :)

We hiked angel rocks today and it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. The view when you get to the top and climb up on the rocks is absolutely beautiful. You can just see miles and miles of land and rolling streams. Erin and I both sat at the top just looking at everything as if it was a picture. It was one hard hike up and a little unstable climbing back down (obviously with the ankle haha). It was by far one of those things you wish you could share with your significant other and remember it for years to come. In the past two years that I have lived here it is one of my favorite things I have done and seen.

We also soaked in the hot springs after and saw a handful of moose and enjoyed lots of construction on both our way out and back into town. In the end it was a fabulous day. :)

Day Three Hundred Twenty-Six.

Question marks on my calendar, a sign waiting to be hung, an outfit picked out and a good idea of when J will arrive. When I say a good idea I mean in Army times...by a week or so haha. I am on cloud nine at the thought of seeing Jason soon and finally having him home. Not to mention I have booked the airfare for our second honeymoon to Antigua. That is right a cute husband and myself sitting on the beach sipping alcoholic beverages and basking in the sun like this whole year was a complete breeze. Hey, at least it is rewarding in the end. ;)

I THINK I know who my end of deployment winner is. I wont be contacting you until closer to Jason's arrival so I am for sure of the correct winner AND to be careful with OPSEC. :)

11 August 2009

Day Three Hundred Twenty-Five.

The homecoming sign is done!

Another sign things are getting closer and closer. :)

09 August 2009

Day Three Hundred Twenty-Four.

Visitor - noun. A guest, visitor, a rare occasion when you live in Alaska.

One of my close friends from high school and my buddy on many lonely days/nights when I was back in Michigan is on her way here for the week! I am so excited to have her come visit to go hiking with, relax in the hot springs, berry picking, dinner dates and to relax before the next arrival which will be a permanent visitor aka as my husband. ;)

YAY!!!

Day Three Hundred Twenty-Two.

Homecoming rumors are so fun. ;)

06 August 2009

Day Three Hundred Twenty-One.

On of your rain dances worked! I woke up to the sound of rain outside and it rained through the afternoon. Hopefully it helps a little with the fires because I now have a terrible headache from the constant smell of smoke!

A whirlwind week it has been and I must document its highlights...
-I found out my closest cousin was pregnant. I am still kind of in shock on that one and its circumstances.
-My MIL told me today I will be having a new NIECE in December. Jason's brother is having a little girl and I cant wait to tell J. We mainly have nephews and Jason swears he cant have girls haha maybe his brother will be proof that he indeed can. ;)
-Another baby announcement today too...not for me but for someone special to me and that is all I can say for now.

Ahh the week of babies! I cant wait to meet all of them next spring and maybe at their arrival we will decide on our own little bundle of joy. ;)

05 August 2009

Day Three Hundred Twenty.

In the past two days two more fires have broken out closer to our town making four surrounding us. Kind of scary and the air quality is so horrible it is LITERALLY raining ash. IT looks like a scene out of a scary movie outside where the sky is a tinted haze and you cant see anything that well. I ended up staying in today because I know the smoke has been effecting my respiratory system for the past month and being exposed to it more than I have to right now isn't the greatest idea. They are saying there is no rain in our forecast and they have deployed firefighters here for help from Vermont, Montana and New Hampshire. Hopefully soon mother nature will bring in the rain. We need it and some fresh air!

Day Three Hundred Nineteen.

Ahhh long phone calls with hubby are a rare occasion but are super nice when the occur. I love discussing the things we have planned for when he gets home or the small things he cant wait to see like Emmie' ridiculousness and new tricks. It makes his homecoming seem all so real. He is coming home...SOON! Eeek :)

03 August 2009

Day Three Hundred Eighteen.

An ice cream cone and tons of doggy kisses when you get home plus a bunch of hopeful rumors to hubby's return date makes a somewhat crappy day so much better. :)

02 August 2009

Day Three Hundred Seventeen.

Ahh lazy Sunday! I spent the day reading the paper, catching up on my shows, doing chores, spoiling Emmie with a Petco trip and a phone call with Jason. After dinner I went with Kristene for a long walk on post. We walked three miles with the kids and Emmie just talking about the deployment and our plans for the future. It was completely relaxing and just what I needed to keep my mind off of tomorrow and the million things consuming it. As the torch party makes its way home this week the time left of this deployment is nearing the end. I am just all kinds of excited to know when I pick Jason up I will be picking him up for 3.5 years haha. Of course I will have to spend seven weeks in the spring without him when he goes back to school, but I am just so ready to start a new adventure with him on the east coast and see his smiling face each morning knowing that night he will be coming back home to me. I am just ready for the future and what it holds. The end of this deployment is going to close another chapter in my life where we begin to write a new one and I cant wait to see what fills its pages!

01 August 2009

Day Three Hundred Sixteen.

-Jason's welcome home sign has been started!

-A berry picking trip today was successful. We found both blueberries and raspberries!

-Scared/nervous/worried about Monday's appointment.

-It is AUGUST. The last calendar month before the end of deployment OR maybe even the month of hubby!

--Don't forget about the contest below! :)
